Saquon Barkley Headshot

The Eagles had nothing working in the pass game Monday night against the Chargers. But the run game finally got going. Saquon Barkley racked up 122 yards and a TD on 20 carries, thanks primarily to a re-emergence of chunk plays. Barkley's biggest strike came from 52 yards out for a lead-grabbing TD early in the fourth quarter. He added three other runs of 10+ yards, including a first-half sequence that produced 19- and 10-yard gains on consecutive first-down carries.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

With the good news out of the way, let's talk downside.

Barkley also had nine of his attempts go for no gain or a loss, including one play negated by an offside penalty.

It's also important to note that the production came against a mediocre-to-poor Chargers run D. L.A. ranks:

  • 23rd in rush DVOA
  • 17th in rush EPA per play
  • 14th (best) in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs
  • 25th in yards allowed per carry

Barkley also went without a catch for the second straight game and has finished three of the past four with two targets and 1 reception or fewer.

(He caught seven balls at Dallas the other week.)

Wanna get back to the good news?

Week 15 holds a home date with the Raiders, who look similarly friendly as a run D and weaker as an overall defense (21st in total EPA per play compared to the Chargers' No. 6 ranking).

Week 16 holds another positive RB scoring matchup at Washington, and then comes a trip to Buffalo to face a generous run D in likely cold conditions (i.e. less conducive to passing).

So if you've managed to make the playoffs in spite of Barkley's disappointing season, there's a decent chance he'll help you more over the final three weeks.
