Chris Bell Takes Big Step Toward Rookie-Year Relevance
The Dolphins announced Monday that they have activated WR Chris Bell from the non-football injury list. The third-round pick opened camp with that designation while working back from the knee injury that ended his final college season in November.

HC Jeff Hafley said Bell is "not very far away," per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post, and seemed to put the timeline closer to weeks than months. The Dolphins placed rookie WR Chris Bell on the active/non-football injury list to open training camp. Players more commonly land on the physically unable to perform list if they're not ready to practice at the outset, but Bell gets the NFI designation because his injury predated his time with the Dolphins. He's still working back from the ACL tear that ended his final college campaign. It's not yet clear how soon he'll gain full clearance.
Miami Dolphins Take Their Third Rookie WR in Kevin Coleman
The Miami Dolphins selected Missouri WR Kevin Coleman Jr. in Round 5 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Coleman’s college career was a tour. He opened at Jackson State under Deion Sanders, transferred to Louisville for 2023, and then broke out at Mississippi State in 2024. Coleman caught 74 balls for 932 yards and 6 TDs that year – all team highs. His 2.32 yards per route ranked 57th among 260 FBS WRs with 50+ targets. Coleman transferred to Missouri this past year and again led his team in receptions (66) and receiving yards (732). He ranked 18th in targets per route (0.26) and 26th in yards per route (2.23) among the 49 WRs invited to this year’s Combine. Coleman goes just 5’10, 179 pounds and looks like a slot-only player in the NFL. He logged 92% of his snaps inside in college and registered a career 9.5-yard average target depth. That leaves him with a relatively unexciting fantasy ceiling.
Dolphins Give WR Chris Bell a Chance in the Third Round
The Miami Dolphins selected Louisville WR Chris Bell in Round 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. At 6’2 and 222 pounds, Bell looks the part of an NFL starter with red-zone upside. He adds the strength and enough long speed to stress defenses, with insider Jordan Schultz writing last month that Bell’s “in-game GPS tracked him at low 4.3 speed in full pads.” Bell also improved his production each year, capping his career with a 72-917-6 line. An ACL tear on Nov. 22 clouds his short-term outlook and kept him out of Combine drills, but the 2025 season still offered reasons for optimism. Bell’s 2.55 yards per route run ranked 22nd among 105 WRs with 80+ targets. And his 41.2% Dominator Rating, which measures a WR’s share of team receiving yards and TDs, ranked third in this class behind Jordyn Tyson and Denzel Boston.

ESPN's Field Yates is reporting that the New Orleans Saints held a private workout with Georgia WR Zachariah Branch. Per the report, the workout included "some punt return work" for Branch, who is regarded as one of the top returners in the 2026 NFL Draft.
